Nourish - Breakfast Quinoa

This version of breakfast quinoa is simple, quick, tasty, filling, and will cover up the quinoa flavor, if you are like me quinoa alone can taste bland. I will use my favorite summer fruit – blueberries, right now it is winter so I will grab frozen blueberries too!  This will be your go to healthy protein-packed whole grain breakfast!  

Ingredients:

1/2 cup quinoa - different colors make this one look pretty

1 cup of milk 

1 tsp maple syrup, agave, or honey

Dash of cinnamon and nutmeg

Add ins:  blueberries, strawberries, banana, walnuts, coconut

Instructions: 

Rinse quinoa, heat milk until warm, add quinoa.  Simmer until liquid has been absorbed about 15 minutes.  Remove from heat and add in sweetener and add ins.  ENJOY!  

Tip$ This will make 2 hearty servings, double it up so you have breakfast all week.  I like to store in mason jars, put the lid on while it is still hot for a seal.  Enjoy hot or cold!
